UFFIZI - The Uffizi Museum is one of the most important museums in Italy and in the world as it houses a priceless collection of masterpieces that were once the property of the powerful Medici family and that through the centuries were enriched by legacies and donations. The rich collection includes paintings from the XIIth to the XVIIIth century, there are works by Cimabue, Michelangelo, Giotto, Leonardo da Vinci and Raphael. In 2013 The TImes elected the Uffizi as the most beautiful museum in the world.
DAVID - The famous David by Michelangelo is a marble statue that was sculpted between 1501 and 1504 and that’s 5,17 m. (16,96 ft) high including the base. It’s located inside the Galleria dell’Accademia Museum and it’s considered as one of the symbols of Renaissance, of Florence and of Italy in the world. The statue depicts the biblical hero David who’s about to kill the giant Goliath and it symbolizes the victory over an extraordinarily stronger adversary.
